A Texas native, Beth Huntley has lived in Virginia for fifteen years. She discovered watercolors ten years ago when her daughter was taking an art course in high school. Encouraged by husband and daughter to show her works, she entered her first show in the spring of 1990 and received a Judges' Choice award. She has continued to show her work in the nearby communities and has received numerous additional Judges' Choice Awards, as well as an Award of Merit.

Beth's close-in studies of the bearded iris are a particular favorite of patrons ranging from Washington, DC, to North Carolina. She enjoys depicting the intricate design and color of the hybrid iris (her favorite) as well as just about any flower she finds in season. Whenever possible, she works with living specimens, but uses photographs during the winter months. Although she favors flowers and floral arrangements, Beth paints a variety of subjects and continues to expand her repertoire. This includes notecard miniatures of her work, as well as limited-edition prints.
